Trumps Race Remarks Are An All-Time Low
Of all the absurd comments uttered by Donald Trump ever, his remarks in Chicago this week on race were an all-time low.
One of the things he talked about was this inane, insane issue of a "black job." No one presumably has any inkling what this means or who he is referring to, but let's play the game since he brought it up.
Are "black jobs" low paying, for individuals without college degrees; are these "black jobs" being taken - and who would even want them anyways - by immigrants. Maybe we can get some black people, Mr. Trump might be insinuating, to build a wall at the Mexican border to keep illegal immigration down.
Racial politics is the dirtiest game. The former president said that VP Harris had to his knowledge "became black" all of a sudden. Was he in a coma?
Any way you look at this, Mr. Trump has gone off the reservation. His aides confided to the Wall Street Journal in the aftermath of the Chicago Black Journalists Conference debacle, Mr. Trump went badly off script.
Polling markets saw his 75% odds of winning drop by 20 points. Meantime, an ocean away, a young black gymnast named Simone Biles won the individual medley. She said: "I love my black job". Or in French: "Touché ".
